Our Story
In June of 1997 Tom Wadsworth discovered that he had cancer… Friends and family including a former Vineyard pastor (Randy Conger) decided to start a weekly prayer meeting for Tom, for healing…

These meetings in Tom and Kathy’s home became much more than a prayer meeting for Tom. We began to pray for revival in our city (Woodburn) and for all of the churches, their pastors and of course for each other. We began to earnestly seek the Lord, with prayer and fasting.

In our first meeting a prophetic word was spoken with the scripture Joel 2:12, (if we would turn and keep on turning to the Lord, He would restore).

We also received a word that God seeks worshippers (John 4:23), and we determined to spend all night if necessary worshipping him. With no musicians in the group we worshipped while listening to CD’s (Tom had a huge selection of Christian music). It was also found that while Tom would pray during the week regarding what songs were the right ones for each Friday night, he would have to listen and worship in his home all week.

And then Tom’s cancer went into remission…

People began to come from all over, from all kinds of churches and many who were so burned out on church that that didn’t go anywhere. Signs wonders and miracles became not only a weekly occurrence but there were testimonies coming in daily of answered prayer, healing and friends and family that we had been praying for coming to Christ.

We soon outgrew Tom’s house but had no intention to start a church. Many of the people (including Tom) were faithful leaders in their own churches, churches that we all were praying for. We started meeting in two homes simultaneously, one for the adults and one for the kids. People continued to come from all over, to get prayed for, healed and even to accept Christ.

But many who came did not have a church home and did not feel comfortable in the normal church setting. In February 2002, Solomon’s Porch was created. Many like Tom remained faithful in their own churches but came on Friday nights for the meetings that continued to be interdenominational. These Friday night meetings would start around 7:00pm and continue every week until 2:00am to 3:00am and even later as personal ministry or worship and the presence of the Lord was so great that nobody wanted to go home…

In 2005 we moved into our current location in Hubbard, OR and started Sunday morning meetings…

Today Solomon’s Porch may look like any other church with Sunday meetings, Youth, Men’s, and other normal church activities but our DNA has not changed. We are still committed to the whole body of Christ, we still pray for all the local churches and for revival.

And Friday nights… well they STILL GO ALL NIGHT!
