We are currently experiencing a move of God in our midst... Could it be Revival? I guess it depends on definitions...
To me a "move of God" is best described in a church setting as a time where miracles are common, (these can be everything from miraculous healings, to divine provision to supernatural encounters that bring hope and direction). When miracles are common expectantcy is high. When expectantcy is high, miracles are common. It is a wonderful time that makes you wonder, which comes first, expectancy or miracles... My answer is neither, it is a move of God... I believe that if we are faithful to do all that He puts before us, IN FAITH, that we will experience "moves of God" almost like we do seasons of the year...
But is it Revival? If your definition of Revival is "the last day Revival" which so many have prophesied, my answer would have to be, "I don't know". But if your definition is "a regeneration of my spirit, my faith, my expectantcy and relationship with God", my answer is, for me "YES". How about you?
Years ago I heard a preacher say that he drew a circle on the ground, and stepped into the circle and prayed, "let revival start right here in this circle". I have prayed that prayer many times myself... For revival to happen on a large scale where thousands come to know Christ, where lives, households, cities, states, countires and even the world is changed, it has to start inside of us. Someone HAS to be willing to be changed by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I love the move of God that is happening in our midst... I love watching children worship, (from their heart). I love seeing miracles. I even love seeing all of the strange manefestations that happen when God's power touches someone. My heart leaps when someone's eyes are opened to see that God is real and that He really does love them. The power encounters where people fall down (slain in the Spirit) under the power of the Holy Spirit, or where they shake and tremble as His touch is so real it boggles the mind. I love the "words of knowledge", or "propehtic words" where someone speaks information that they had no natural way of knowing and the person recieving these "words" gets confirmation that God cares enough about them to give someone else a message for them.
I could very easily go on and on about how much I LOVE it when God is moving in our midst. But, to be just a spectator is not good enough... I MUST be CHANGED. The world around me DESPARATELY NEEDS more of Jesus.
My prayer is "Thy kingdom COME, on earth as it is in heaven"... Let it start with me.
